Objetivo:
The main objectives of this course are: 1) To discuss the most important chronic diseases (CD) in children and adolescents, such as severe respiratory allergic disorders, obesity, type 1 diabetes mellitus, childhood-systemic lupus erythematosus, primary hypogammaglobulinemia, cystic fibrosis and the main types of pediatric cancer, among others; 2) To discuss each CD focusing on its epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical and laboratorial diagnosis, treatment, outcome, as well as therapeutic education aiming at improving patient and family adherence. Critérios  
de seleção: All applications are first screened by the Winter Schools Team for fulfilling the following criteria:
- having met the application deadline;
- completeness of the application;
- having met the eligibility ;
Then assessed by the course coordinator against the following selection criteria:
- student scholarly performance, including prizes and/ or distinguished academic activities at his/her home institution;
- motivation statement and recommendation from his/her Home Institution;
- plurality of institution representativeness, and
- other criteria still to be defined by the Program Coordinator.
In case FMUSP Winter Schools receive many inscriptions from the same University, FMUSP might request to the sending University rank their students.
