Objetivos:
Curso introdutório de Álgebra Linear no nível de pós-graduação, com enfoque teórico.
Objectives:
Introductory course on Linear Algebra at the graduate level, with theoretical emphasis.
Justificativa:
Álgebra linear é um blocos fundamentais da disciplina matemática.
Rationale:
Linear Algebra is one of the foundational stones of the field of Mathematics.
Conteúdo:
1. Espaços vetoriais de dimensão finita e infinita. Soma direta interna e externa. Espaços quociente. 2. Transformações lineares e matrizes. 3. Espaços dual e bi¬dual (em dimensão finita e infinita). Hiperplanos, transposta e anuladores. 4.Diagonalização de operadores lineares. Polinômio minimal. 5. Espaços com produto interno. Operadores normais, auto-adjuntos, e unitários. Redução à forma diagonal.
Content:
1. Vector space in finite and infinite dimensions. Inner and outer direct sum. Quotient spaces. 2. Linear transformations and matrices. 3. Dual and bidual spaces. Hyperplanes, transpose and annihilators. 3. Diagonalization of linear operators. Minimal polynomial. 5. Inner product spaces. Normal, self-adjoint and unitary operators. Diagonalization.
Type of Assessment:
The evaluation will be carried out through seminars, projects and tests. The final grade will be calculated by mean obtained by the student in the assessment instrument. In the first two weeks of class, the teacher will set the dates and number of tests, projects and seminars, as well as the criteria for attributing the final letter grade.
