What is Sustainable Development? Students understand the challenges our World faces and topics of Sustainable development • Social Infrastructure and Long Run Economic Performance. It will present the history of economic development, starting with the Industrial Revolution and ending with the current state of modern economic growth in different countries. Students understand the difference of economic development across countries and what are the determinants of economics • The History of Inequality. This topic will analyze various factors that contribute to some countries advancing while others do not. Students understand various factors that contribute to some countries advancing while others do not. • The SDGs and the End of Extreme Poverty. The pathways for achieving the end of extreme poverty in different countries. Students understand the pathways for achieving the end of extreme poverty in different countries; Students understand an overview of food security, farm systems, and ecology and review what can be done to achieve a sustainable global food supply as well as local food supply • Growth within Planetary Boundaries. This topic will detail the various planetary boundaries and their implications for growth dynamics • Human Rights and Gender Equality. It will focus on the ethics of wealth, poverty, and inequality as well as the forces that widen inequalities in different countries Students understand aspects of gender equality and decent work • Higher Education. It will present an overview of the state of modern higher education, the roles of UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, and what needs to be achieved for sustainable development. It will be provided an overview of the notions, challenges, and pathways to achieving good health and well-being in different countries.
