Programa Resumido
In this course, students develop a previous concept to a real working product prototype. There is a strong focus on advanced prototyping in order to bring product closer to final solution. Students also work to define potential business model and alternatives for market introduction.

Programa
1. Advanced prototyping phase: digital prototyping and rapid prototyping.
2. User testing and feedback phase: user testing and concept selection.
3. Intellectual property.
4. Business model and partnerships.
5. Definitions for potential market introduction.

Avaliação

Método
The course consists of mainly practical classes and the development of a product prototype in teams. The project should result in viable solution both technically and economically. The project deliverable is a working prototype, the corresponding engineering documentation (including specification of final materials and processes), detailed description of business model and alternatives for potential market introduction. The student overall evaluation consists of the evaluation of the product design and its prototype, and an individual grade of in-class activities and exercises.
Critério
Average of prototype, report and exercises grades
Norma de Recuperação
No remedial work.
