O curso tem por objetivo dotar os alunos de (1) conhecimento atualizado sobre as estruturas econômicas, políticas e sociais das sociedades latino-americanas, com ênfase aos nexos entre Estado e Empresariado no que se refere a aspectos das relações internacionais de cada país; (2) fornecer arcabouço teórico e analítico sobre negociações internacionais, com ênfase às que envolvam o setor privado (empresariado); (3) dotar os alunos de conhecimentos aplicados sobre o panorama de negociações internacionais contemporâneas envolvendo temáticas de interesse dos países latino-americanos.
O curso tratará de recuperar o instrumental necessário da teoria de negociação internacional – barganha e interesses; poder e assimetria; uso do tempo e gradualismo; geometria variável: bilateralismo, plurilateralismo, multilateralismo -- a fim capacitar os alunos à subsequente análise dos casos concretos, os quais serão explorados conforme recorte geográficos variados: nacional ou regional. Será igualmente atribuída importância a casos externos à América latina, a fim de se verificar, de modo empírico, a validade da proposição de hipóteses de arranjos estado-Empresariado quanto à inserção internacional em períodos de transição, econômica e política, seja em países em desenvolvimento, bem seja em países desenvolvidos. O curso será dividido em duas secções: (I) Aspectos Gerais e Fundamentos analíticos (seis primeiros encontros); (II) estudos de caso e o debate contemporâneo (dez encontros finais).Método didáticoAulas expositivas, exercícios de simulação de negociação e seminários.
