Discutir os aspectos fundamentais necessários para a formação do futuro professor de música, através da análise e aplicação de diversas estratégias de ensino específicas para o seu instrumento.
Revisão do histórico do instrumento e sua relação com as práticas interpretativas referentes aos períodos Romântico e dos séculos XX/XXI no que se refere tanto aos elementos técnicos quanto interpretativos da execução. Aplicação deste conhecimento no ensino do instrumento através de exercícios práticos e simulações de aulas. Tópicos principais: principais trabalhos de técnica do século XX; leitura à primeira vista; como estudar e ensinar a estudar; aula particular e em grupo; exposição de pesquisas realizadas sobre problemas físicos comuns em instrumentistas causados por tensão e falta de preparo físico; comparação entre as abordagens de pedagogos do instrumento sobre organização do estudo diário e preparo mental, para alunos iniciantes e de nível avançado.
