Objetivos
COURSE PRESENTATION 
This course is fully delivered in English language and is part of the internationalization strategic actions developed by the EAC, FEA and USP. To attend this course students must be fluent in English, writing and speaking. 
This course aims to develop the understanding of the International Management concepts applied to the Brazilian Business scenario, its culture, political structure, agents and business regulation through a comparative and cross cultural approach. Why study International Management and Business in Brazil? Living and working in a globalized society requires that every student be aware of the main issues taking place in the international business scenario and the world economy today. 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES 

This course offers a comprehensive vision of International Business and Management theories and practices in the world and in Brazil.  At the end of the course students are expected to be prepared to:
1.	Understand the current world of business, its players and major challenges. 
2.	Understand and describe the importance of Brazil as part of the BRICS countries and as a founder member of Mercosul in both Geo-Political and Economic issues.
3.	Learn about the strategy followed by companies when they go international.
4.	Describe and analyze the several types of Business Alliances: M&A, Joint Ventures. 
5.	Understand the importance of National Cultures in international Business – Cross Cultural Theories applied to Brazilian Business.
6.	Understand the main world regulations (national and international) that affect International and local Business. 
7.	Understand and describe Brazilian Regulatory System (Juridical Economic, Social, Tributary) and its effects on local business and in the  attraction of  international investors to Brazil (FDI)
8.	Understand the concepts of Ethics and corruption in business for both local and international scenario.
9.	Understand and describe the business drivers that lead the Brazilian companies in exportation of products and services.
10.	Learn how to develop a business plan for a Brazilian company going abroad and for a foreign company entering in Brazil. 
11.	Learn about the most important aspects of being a successful manager in multicultural and transnational companies.

TEACHING/LEARNING METHODOLOGY 1. Expository classes; 2. Reading and discussion of technical and scientific articles; 3. Classroom discussions of practical cases. A minimum of 10 cases are planned. 4. Individual activities: exercises, quizzes and tests; 5. Group activities: exercises, case solving, seminars and assignments – Active learning. 6. Exams – Two exams - intermediate and final. SKILLS AND ATTITUDES DEVELOPED: It is expected that the teaching-learning methods used in this course can contribute to foster the student's capacity for critical analysis and teamwork in problem solving and improve their judgment skills for making business decisions in cross-cultural, international and multicultural contexts, and in all types of organizations.

GRADING/ASSESSMENT The evaluation standards are: a) The student will be considered approved in the discipline if he / she obtains a final average grade greater than or equal to 5.0 (five) and frequency equal to or greater than 70% (seventy percent). b) The student will be considered to have failed the course if he / she obtains a final average grade lower than 3.0 (three) and / or frequency below 70% (seventy percent). c)The final average grade is based on continuous assessment, case studies, homework and team presentation and based in the following: -In-class case studies, exercises, participation and attendance : 30% maximum -Team presentation: 30% maximum -Exam: 40% maximum
Norma de Recuperação
REASSESSMENT RULES a) The student is eligible to participate in the reassessment (recovery) process of the course if he / she obtains a final average grade greater than or equal to 3.0 (three) and less than 5.0 (five) and frequency equal to or greater than 70%. b) The average for approval in reassessment is calculated as follows: simple arithmetic average resulting from the final average + grade obtained in the reassessment, which must be equal to or greater than 5.0 (five).
