Proporcionar ao estudante visão geral da história, conceitos, metalinguagens e técnicas descritivas de três disciplinas linguísticas desenvolvidas na Índia Antiga, a saber, śikṣā (fonética/ortoépia), chandas (métrica) e nirukta (analise semântica/etimologia).
