Objetivos
Para o historiador, a Bíblia hebraica suscita um problema complexo: sua tradição milenar e ampla difusão convivem com uma inserção questionada e insatisfatória no processo de produção do conhecimento historiográfico. Reverter esse quadro implica uma dupla tarefa: inserir adequadamente a Bíblia na história (considerando-a como produto de comunidades variadas em momentos diversos de sua trajetória, no contexto do antigo Oriente-Próximo) e introduzir a história na Bíblia (reconhecendo-lhe sua natureza social, cultural e política, para além de sua dimensão teológica).

Programa Resumido
A disciplina privilegiará três campos de análise: o ciclo de Abraão (Gênesis); a trajetória de Moisés (Êxodo a Deuteronômio); por fim, a figura de Yahweh como deus único e a emergência do monoteísmo. Outros temas serão considerados secundariamente, sobretudo através da análise documental. O foco serão os processos de fabricação de dispositivos de memória coletiva, que visaram criar ou reformular identidades comunitárias lastreadas no passado compartilhado, definir ações presentes em meio a crises e disputas político-ideológicas e orientar projetos de futuro. Será dispensada grande atenção à renovação do debate sobre as possibilidades e limites de uma história do antigo Israel.

1) Prolegômenos: Bíblia e história do antigo Israel: debates e tendências. Maximalistas, minimalistas e além; Contextos: Histórias cruzadas, Israel e Assíria; Judá e Babilônia; Bíblia: a formação do corpus bíblico em perspectiva histórica; A “história deuteronomística” como memória coletiva e projeto político; Memória, história e narrativa bíblica. 

2) Parte específica: Mitos de criação e caos: o aporte mesopotâmico e levantino; Criação da ancestralidade e genealogia: os patriarcas; Êxodo: aliança, lei e reformulação comunitária; Personagens e paradigmas: Abraão e Moisés; Narrativas de fundação: conquista, terra vazia, retorno do exílio; A fábrica das tradições: memórias de Israel em Judá; Exílio, trauma e reformulação da identidade judaica; Deusas, deuses, deus único: politeísmo e o divino feminino; Biografias divinas e mitografia: Marduk, Baal, Yahweh; A reinvenção de Yahweh e a reescritura do passado; Imagem divina: presença do deus e aniconismo; A Bíblia em sala de aula: possibilidades e limites.

Dissertação de final de curso (75%) e análise documental ou bibliográfica (25%). Aulas expositivas de caráter historiográfico e teórico; trabalhos dirigidos de análise documental; discussão bibliográfica.
Critério
Participação nas aulas expositivas e nos trabalhos dirigidos, leituras programadas.
Norma de Recuperação
Comentário crítico de fonte e/ou texto historiográfico, articulando-o com os conteúdos do curso.
